Babysitting Survey

Posted on Thursday 29 November 2007

The Itasca Park District is gathering information  on Babysitting Services.  If your agency offers a babysitting service, would you be able to provide the following information?

What is your agency’s babysitting rates?  Hourly?  Daily?  Monthly?

What is your agency’s babysitting hours of operation?

Does your agency offer evening babysitting?

Does your agency offer discounts to part time staff that utilize your babysitting service?

Thank you for your help! karyn@itascaparkdistrict.com

Our babysitting rates are $1.50 per hour/per child. If the child is a member they do not have to pay as it is included in the membership.

Hours of operation are 7:45 am - 12 noon Monday through Friday.
Monday hours are 5-8 pm (because there is a fitness class until 8) and Tuesday- Thursday is 5-7:30 pm.

We do provide babysitting in the evening as listed above.

We do not provide daily discounts for any staff for babysitting, however we do provide a discount off of family memberships.
For example: Our family membership is $460.00 per year– we discount what it would cost for that employee to have a single membership. A single membership is $220 per year. Therefore we do $460-$220=$240 for the whole family and babysitting is then included in the membership.

In Gurnee our rates are $3 ($4 for non-residents) for 2 hours of babysitting. Babysitting is available for children ages 2 and up during regular hours (no reservation required). Children ages 3-24 months must make a reservation for child care as higher supervision ratios are required. All children utilizing our Babysitting must have a parent or guardian in our Community Center at the time and may not leave the facility. The service is for those utilizing the facility or programs in our building only. People can also purchase a “10-Visit Pass” for $25/$31 to save a little money. If parents are members of the fitness center they can add child care services to their membership at a rate of $10/$12 per month for unlimited visits to the child care room (2 hour max still applies to each visit).

Our hours of operation are as follows:
    Mon-Fri - 8:30am-Noon
    Mon-Thurs - 4-8pm
    Saturday - 9am-1pm
    Sunday - 1-4pm (Closed on Sundays May-August)

We don’t discount daily fees for staff but part-time staff are eligible for a 25% discount on fitness memberships and any additional add-ons (like child care). Full-time employess are eligible for a 50% discount of passes and add-ons.

In Bensenville, our rates are $1/child up to two children (you don’t pay for more than two). This gets you 1.5 hours of babysitting. You must be using the facility to apply for this service.

There are two available sessions each day, 8:45a-12p and 5:45-8:45p. You can use the service for 1.5 hours during each session, as long as you pay for each session. We do not offer babysitting on the weekends, so these hours are M-F only.

Part time staff get to use this service for free, as long as they are using the facility.

In LaGrange, we offer childcare that runs the same time as our morning fitness classes. We do not yet have a fitness center. We run it M-F from 8:30-12. It is $3 an hour per child for residents and $5 for non residents. Parents have to remain in the building while the child is in childcare, so they must be taking a class or using the track.
