AEK/Harris Computer systems

Posted on Friday, February 15, 2008

Does anyone use AEK registration at their Park District.  If so how do feel the switch to AEK/Harris has gone and have you run into any difficulties.  I am researching them to find out if I will use them at an offsite location this summer.

Thank you in advance,

Julie Johnson

Smart Clock

Posted on Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Does anyone use a smart clock at their facilities?  If so has it helped with daily cost analysis and with keeping more accurate time management?  Also if anyone can share what your cost has been for a smart clock.

Professional Connection

Posted on Friday, December 21, 2007

Happy Holidays!!!
During the holiday season, we need to also remember to give back to the parks and recreation field.  As the IPRA/IAPD 2008 Conference draws near, the conference committee is reaching out to professionals to volunteer time at the Professional Connection.  It is an opportunity for students to network with professionals who have experience in their area of interest. We are looking for all levels of professionals; Coordinator, Supervisor, Manager, Superintendent and Director.  Attached is a copy of a flyer, if you are interested please complete the flyer and fax it back to the contact information.
If you are not able to make the event, we hope to have your support by donating giveaways; sweatshirts, t-shirts, bags, mugs, etc…  The goal of the committee is to giveaway one raffle per student.  Therefore, please contact Mike Baiardo at mbaiardo@alsipparks.org to arrange for pick up of any items your agency may be able to donate.
Thank you for your consideration and time, have a wonderful holiday season.

Alcohol Sales at Park Districts

Posted on Thursday, December 6, 2007

Hello Everyone!

Most of you may remember me as one of the interns at IPRA over the summer working with Mike Selep as a coordinator of the BMW Championship volunteers. Currently, I work as Golf Center Facility Supervisor with the Des Plaines Park District and we are investigating alcohol sales for groups at one of our parks. The alcohol would be provided by the Park District, therefore, I am asking for any input as to how overall sales have been at an agency that has adopted such a policy. General information with emphasis on pricing, overall participation increase/decrease, and profit margin would be extremely helpful in writing my proposal. Any bit of information is certainly appreciated, I thank you for your time,

The Itasca Park District is gathering information  on Babysitting Services.  If your agency offers a babysitting service, would you be able to provide the following information?

What is your agency’s babysitting rates?  Hourly?  Daily?  Monthly?

What is your agency’s babysitting hours of operation?

Does your agency offer evening babysitting?

Does your agency offer discounts to part time staff that utilize your babysitting service?

Thank you for your help! karyn@itascaparkdistrict.com
